HHS Secretary Tom Price has resigned over the scandal about his private jet travel. He is reported to have spent as much as $1.0 million on private jets while performing his duties as Health and Human Services Secretary. He was ineffective as HHS leader, ineffective in the House, and will not be missed.
The Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico–who is on the ground there–has complained that the relief efforts from the United States to assist the hurricane ravaged island are not happening fast enough and that Puerto Rico is still suffering. The President–who is not on the ground in Puerto Rico–has told the press that efforts are going very well. There’s a bit of a disconnect between the two scenarios.
The President’s Cup continues through the weekend. As of this morning, the U.S. leads the match play competition 8 to 2.
