Good Morning, it’s Sunday, 8 October 2017 and this is the Morning Edition of The Nightshift, the world’s overnight news feed.
Hurricane Nate went ashore in Mississippi yesterday and has quickly downgraded into a tropical storm.
Bloomberg reports that the Trump organization is continuing to loan money to its two Scottish golf course properties, Turnberry and Aberdeen. Both have experienced sharp downturns in revenue and increasing losses.  Bloomberg has details.
The Harvey Weinstein scandal continues to make the wrong kinds of headlines. Expect a complete and permanent separation from the company for Harvey.
In Spain, Catalonia, the Spanish state which is the home to Barcelona and also the wealthiest part of the country, is driving toward full independence, a move that the Spanish government does not endorse. People always prefer freedom to subservience. CNN has extensive coverage on the story.
