Good Morning, it’s Thursday, 26 October 2017 and this is the morning edition of The Nightshift.
The Houston Astros won the second game of the World Series, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 in an 11 inning, 4 hour game, that produced a total of 8 home runs. It has been called the most exciting World Series game of all time. The Series is now tied at 1-1;  the teams play again Friday night in Houston.
The Daily Grope: Mark Halperin, journalist and author and long-time contributor to MSNBC (and in particular, the Morning Joe show on that channel) is out at MSNBC after CNN published a report that he sexually harassed women years ago when he was the political director at the ABC network. In other Grope news, Colony Capital will not proceed with a planned cash infusion into The Weinstein Company. The fallout from the allegations against Harvey Weinstein continue to damage the company. Can it survive? Probably not.
Today is National Pumpkin Day. Only a few more days and the Great Pumpkin himself will arrive. (It’s also National Tennessee Day so our best to the folks in the Volunteer State).
Also, we added the CNN “text news” site, which is much faster than their full multi-media site. It’s also below at the end of the links.
