Good Morning, it’s Sunday, 17 December 2017, and this is the Morning edition of The Nightshift, the World’s Daily News Source.
The most recent iteration of the Star Wars franchise, “The Last Jedi”, is expected to pull in over half-a-billion dollars this weekend as it opens in theaters around the world. Disney certainly knows how to make a good thing better.
The new tax reform bill pulled together by the Republicans in the Senate and House is not favorable for home ownership. This marks a major shift in American tax policy. How will you be affected by this rushed-into-a-vote bill that is only good for corporations and wealthy families?
The long-running California wildfire (the Thomas fire) situated around Ventura is now classified as the third largest fire in California history. The fire is currently 40% contained with full containment expected by the first week in January; it has burned over 200,000 acres.
Lawyers for President Trump are advancing a theory that special counsel Robert Mueller has illegally obtained emails of the Trump presidential campaign. Mueller–an expert in procedures as well as investigative process–is highly unlikely to make any mistake of that type. Trump’s lawyers, however, have shown themselves to be quite susceptible to errors and miscalculations.

Kevin Robinson, a star BMW rider, has died unexpectedly at age 45. Robinson was a sensation in a sport that most are not even aware exits (unless you are under forty). He was a legend and will be missed.
Mike Francesca, the long-running radio talk show host on WFAN in New York, has retired from the program after thirty years on the air. During his amazingly long run, Francesca was always number 1 in the ratings. He had a huge number of fans and an equally large number of non-fans–that all goes with the territory in sports talk radio where if you’re not making impressions (negative or positive), you’re not connecting. Next for Francesca? Expect him to show up on satellite radio perhaps.
