Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is in Washington for a visit with President Trump and embattled Presidential Aide Jared Kushner. The prince, known as “MBS”, has advanced sweeping and radical cultural changes in Saudi Arabia. He’s in America to talk about investment opportunities as Saudi Arabia transitions from a socialist state(the government pays for everything) based on the country’s oil wealth to a more modern economic model not centered on oil.
Facebook lost $40 billion in market value yesterday after it was disclosed that the company was involved in a massive data breach that involved the profiles of 50 million Facebook users; the profiles were used and manipulated by Cambridge Analytica, a company deeply involved in engineering the election of President Donald Trump in 2016. The Facebook rout precipitated a tech sell off as Wall Street wakes up to the realization that huge social media companies are not necessarily trustworthy with their data assets or how these assets are deployed/used. Not sure if anyone at Facebook “likes” what’s going on at the social media giant.

Today is the first day of Spring. Enjoy it…or, if you in the northeast, don’t put away your snow shovels quite yet. Looks like another nor’easter is on the way, with 5 to 9 inches in New York City, and snow south to Washington and North to Boston. The official start of Spring is at 12:15PM Eastern. Happy Spring.
