The following events are scheduled for today. Television coverage in the United States is via NBC and NBCSN.
Alpine Skiing
Biathlon
Bob Sled
Cross Country
Curling
Figure Skating
Freestyle Skiing
Ice Hockey
Luge
Short Track
Ski Jumping
Snowboarding
Speed Skating
Remember: The nightly prime-time telecasts will feature the most popular events; if you want to see some of the more unique/esoteric events, check out NBCSN, which is available all day on air, online, and streaming. Some events at this Olympics have been delayed or postponed, especially the Alpine Skiing events, due to high winds, so NBC’s programming will shift accordingly. We follow everything via NBCSN since they tend to show it all.

Good Morning, it’s Monday, 12 February 2018,  and this is the Morning Edition of The Nightshift.
The Nightshift is moving to a more streamlined format to accommodate a slate of new  Media Bunker  projects.
The games are on in PyeonChang and America is doing well. Chloe Kim took the Gold in snowboard halfpipe and the U.S. Figure Skating Team took Bronze in the team figure skating competition. Congratulations to all the American athletes who made the team and are competing. Once again, high winds have postponed skiing, with the women’s Giant Slalom also delayed; earlier the men’s downhill was postponed. So far, we have yet to see American medal hopefuls Mikaela Shiffrin (slalom, GS) and Lindsey Vonn (GS, downhill) ski. Events are tentatively re-scheduled for Thursday but the weather is a big factor. You can see the running medal count with this direct link.
President Trump is taking cultural heat for his “tone deaf” position on the resignation of former White House staffer Rob Porter, who was forced out of the White House due to accusations of abuse by both of his ex-wives . That is background noise this week, however, because the Olympics are in progress.

The Winter Olympics Film Festival: 1948 St. Moritiz

Nightshift Sports:
Nightshift Sports is posting a series of feature length films on the Winter Olympics, starting with the 1948 Winter Games. The first several posts will be embedded…i.e. you can access the film just by clicking on the play button on this site. Others will require a click-to-link, which will take you away from this site. Why the International Olympic Committee will allow embeds for some of these films (and they are all “official” documentaries) and not for others is not known to us. We’re just glad they’re made available to view.
In a time before global warming, when the Winter Olympics were held in climate-appropriate locations, one of the most glamorous Winter Games was the 1948 event staged in St. Moritz. The competition was organized just three years after the end of World War II, and took place in one of the few spots in Europe that had not been devastated by the war: Switzerland. St. Mortiz was then–and remains–one of the world’s great playgrounds for the affluent–especially for winter sports. Here then, the full feature film on the 1948 St. Moritz Winter Olympics, from an era and competitive time that no longer exists.

It’s their channel–believe them.

You’ll probably need a go-to print source to keep up with all the news at this year’s Winter Olympics.
We have it for you: It’s the New York Times rather amazing coverage of this year’s event.
