Press Clippings:
Good Morning, it’s Sunday, 15 October 2017, and this is the Morning Edition of The Nightshift.
Fires continue to engulf certain parts of Northern California. The most recent estimate is that the fires are between 1-10% contained–that’s not a good number and it comes as the very brave firefighters are nearing total exhaustion. More prayers, please.
Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace has accelerated, as more women come forward with tales of sexual harassment: he was also tossed out of the Motion Picture Academy, the group that hands out the Oscars. As before–it’s going to get worse for Harvey before..if..it gets better.
The Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees again, by the score of 2-1. Houston’s Justin Verlander pitched an amazing complete game, with 13 strikeouts and Jose Altuve, the incredibly sensational Houston second baseman, made a mad dash around the bases from first to home after a single by Carlos Correa, to score the winning run in the 9th inning. Houston leads the Yankees 2-0 in the best of seven series. In the other playoff game, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2. The Dodgers and the Cubs will play again today.
Today is National Grouch Day. Make someone you know who is perpetually grouchy feel better today–it that’s possible. It it’s not, celebrate National “I Love Lucy” Day by dying your hair red and doing madcap things all afternoon. Quite a range of options, eh?
Also, we added the CNN “text news” site, which is much faster than their full multi-media site. It’s also below at the end of the links.

We thank them for sharing. The Nightshift is a production of Perception Engineering and The Media Bunker. This post is number 1398 for this site. The Nightshift is a continually evolving experiment in news communications. Currently, comments on the world’s news have been (severely) limited and a photo of one important story of the day is often included. It’s rapid iteration. Thanks for reading. Now–catch up on the world.
