The 2017 British Open: Round 1

Nightshift Sports: 

The 146th British Open (known in the U.K. as “The Open”) started play today at Royal Birkdale, which has now hosted the tournament 10 times.  At the end of the of the first round, three American’s were tired for first at five under par: Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar, and Brooks Koepka. Today as a good day to score, but tomorrow is forecasted as just a good day to survive: high winds and rain are projected.

The Tour De France: Stage 18

Nightshift Sports: 

At the end of the 18th stage of the 2017 Tour de France, Christopher Froome maintained his lead as the overall leader, followed by Romain Bardet, Rigoberto Uran, Mikel Landa and Fabio Aru. Warren Barguil won the stage.

The Nightshift: 20 July 2017

Good Morning, it’s Thursday, 20 July 2017 and this is the morning  edition of The Nightshift, the world’s overnight news feed.
Senator John McCain, former presidential candidate and one of the major leaders of the Senate has been diagnosed with brain cancer. The cancer was picked up when he underwent a procedure last week to remove a blood clot above his left eye.
Today is National Pennsylvania Day, which will mean a lot more to people to live in Pennsylvania than to people who live in other states.
The 146th British Open golf tournament starts today.

The Tour de France: Stage 17

Nightshift Sports: 

The Tour de France finished stage 17 today, and while Chris Froome maintained his lead,  two new competitors, Rigoberto Uran  and Romain Bardet moved into second place, Fabio Aru who was second for several stages has dropped back into third position behind Uran and Bardet.

The Tour de France: Stage 16

Nightshift Sports:

“Back on the road again” goes the Willie Nelson song, and so it was on the Tour today, 18 July 2017, as the riders competed in the 16th stage. At the end of the day, Chris Froome maintained his position in the lead, a mere 18 seconds ahead of Fabio Aru.
