The Weekend Concert Series: Aretha Franklin

The Hunt for New Music:
Before she became a one-name celebrity, Aretha Franklin was one of the hardest working, widest ranging performers of our time. The tributes to Aretha are pouring in from all over the world after her death at age 76. She certainly deserves the respect she is now receiving–she’s always deserved it–but nothing that is written can equal the power of Aretha in concert. For this weekend’s Concert Series, the focus is on the performances, both long and short, of the Queen of Soul. If you follow “The Hunt for New Music”, you know the drill: Kick the video to the big screen, run the audio through the sound system, get a glass of wine or a scotch and water or a margarita, turn it on and turn it up and enjoy the magic and the soul that made Aretha Franklin one of our greatest singers ever.

The Fine Print: Embed courtesy of our friends at YouTube. The video was posted by Aretha Franklin on MV, on November 13, 2014. The concert was originally staged on March 7th, 1971. This video has not been altered in any way. All rights belong to the respective rights holders. The Weekend Concert Series is produced by Perception Engineering and the Media Bunker who  thank YouTube and Aretha Franklin on MV for sharing. And who thank you for viewing.
