Good Morning, it’s Monday, 18 December 2017, and this is the Morning edition of The Nightshift, the World’s Daily News Source.
It’s the last minute sprint  to the finish–one more week until Christmas. Got all your shopping done? If not, now’s the time (and send out those cards, please).
Atlanta’s airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport–the world’s busiest–was shut down yesterday due to a total power outage. Over 1100 flights were cancelled on Sunday and another 300 cancelled this morning (Monday).  The outage could not come at a worse time–it’s the busiest travel time of the year and finding replacement flights for those whose flights were cancelled will be tough, as most outbound flights are 90% booked. What a mess.
“The Last Jedi”, the latest film in the Star Wars saga pulled in over $450 million at the box office this past weekend. What George Lucas created (and what Disney is carrying on) is an amazing cultural phenomenon. Well done to all involved.
Bob Seidemann, one of rock’s greatest photographers, has died at age 75.  Mr. Seidemann was also noted for his aviation photography which grew out of his lifelong fascination with flight.

Today is National Answer The Telephone Like Buddy The Elf Day (we don’t make this stuff up, we just report it). Just to make the day complete–see the tutorial above..
