Recording Sgt. Pepper's

The Hunt For New Music: In The Room With Geoff Emerick
One of the key individuals in the production of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was Geoff Emerick, who was the recording engineer for the album and the sessions that produced it. Working with technology that is considered primitive by today’s digital 32-track standards, Emerick enabled  The Beatles and producer George Martin to realize their audio vision for “Sgt. Pepper”. He was interviewed just a few months ago, on the eve of the 50th Anniversary of “Sgt. Pepper” coming to America. It’s a fascinating look back into the creation of a classic.
