The Nightshift: 16 January 2017

Press Clippings:
Good Morning, it’s Monday, 16 January 2017.
The NFL Playoffs are over (Packers, Steelers, Patriots, and Falcons won), the circus is leaving town, and Washington is looking ever-more-swamplike.
It’s a new era and uncertainty is the current operating mode.
Maybe it will settle down. Maybe it won’t. But the world will go on.

The Nightshift: 15 January 2017

Press Clippings:
Good Morning, it’s Sunday, 15 January 2017.
The circus is leaving town, permanently, as Ringling Brothers/Barnum&Bailey announced their circus–the big top that many of us have seen in the past–will be closing down, a victim of high operating costs and declining attendance. Animals and highly specialized acts in the circus will have to find new homes and workplaces. The tightrope walkers, though, might be able to find positions in the media, where walking a fine line will be a highly desired skill for the next four years (at least).  In the rest of America–it’s drama, turmoil, and contentiousness.
Maybe it will settle down. Maybe it won’t. But the world will go on.

The Nightshift: 10 January 2017

Press Clippings:

Good Morning, it’s Tuesday, 10 January 2017.
The National Championship Football game last night was an absolute classic, with Clemson scoring a touchdown to beat Alabama (going for its second National Championship in a row) with 1 second left  to win the game, 35-31. This one was everything it was supposed to be and could be. A winner for all the fans of  college football. Congrats to both teams for a game for the ages.
In Washington, the confirmation hearings are off and running and the inauguration is just 10 days away. Hang on. Everything is in flux.
