CNN is no longer the dominant force in news it once was. One reason is that Ted Turner is no longer in charge; Turner was a television visionary who never stopped improving and evolving. Another is the rise of Fox News and MSNBC. And still another reason the news network is struggling is the fragmentation of the news, caused by a seemingly endless universe of digital news sources. So what’s Jeff Zucker, the head man at CNN going to do about it? Here’s his plan:
 

NEW YORK MAGAZINE BACKS UP

The world’s best weekly is about to  become the world’s best bi-weekly.
One of the very best publications ever, New York Magazine, has announced that it will change it’s publishing frequency from weekly to bi-weekly. This is a huge loss(but not a big shock, since the cost of putting out a weekly publication is enormous). The move will save the magazine $3.5 million a year, but for magazine lovers, it means 26 less issues of memorable content and attitude a year. Adam Moss continues as Editor; the money saved goes into the digital version, which is growing quickly.  You can read the full story here.
