They make it look so easy, the Olympic swimmers, but the strokes they lay down in the 50 meter pool are so much more refined than what most of us produce when we do a few laps for exercise. In a sport in which tenths and hundredths of a second can determine who’s a Gold Medal winner and who’s not, refinement and efficiency are key. Here’s a good video on How to Swim from our friends at Wired magazine.  If you’re going to do it, learn from the best.  Have at it.

This is the weekend for the annual Perseids Meteor shower–a spectacular, late night, light show, courtesy of nature. Expect the shower to start about 10PM and run until sunrise.
